I Feel It Returning

A comment from someone I hadn’t seen in years reminded me that encouragement can stay with a person long after we’ve given it. I’ve struggled to find my words lately, but I feel my gift returning. This time, my prayer is to use it to glorify God.

I have writer’s block.

I’m not sure why, but in a strange way, I feel like it’s something I’m supposed to sit with. I want the words to come, but I don’t want to force them.

Today, a comment on TikTok brought me some peace.

A woman I haven’t seen in years told me she hoped my gift would return a thousandfold.

She was remembering a time when I helped her invest in herself and see that she didn’t have to lose hope. Her comment wasn’t about the content I’m creating now. It was about something that had stayed with her long after our conversation.

I didn’t know she still carried that.

And reading her words helped me recognize something I haven’t quite known how to explain.

For a while, it has felt like my gift went away.

Now, I feel it returning.

I can’t tell you exactly what that means yet. I don’t know when the words will come easily again or what this gift will look like as I continue to use it.

But I want to pray about it. I want to practice it. I want to pay attention when there’s an opportunity to encourage someone, even when I’m struggling to find the words myself.

Her comment reminded me that something I had given years ago still mattered to her. And today, she gave something back to me.

Hope.

So I’m borrowing her words for my prayer.

Lord, whatever You’ve given me, I pray it returns a thousandfold. Help me use it faithfully, even while I’m still finding my way.

This time, my prayer is that the glory belongs to You.
